Some ladies dread their first-time menstruation or any cycle of menstruation each month comes with. The fear that comes with such very natural experiences for most girls is what a platform like Uvix is dedicated to reducing and possibly eradicating. Every woman experiences menstruation and must embrace it without fear or any form of stigmatization.
Adeline Esi Sutherland, a Ghanaian celebrated Marketer with Cloud Schools Africa, has added her voice to this conversation presenting a better perspective on menstruation for all women. Speaking from a place of enlightenment Adeline advised that:
“Menstruation is seen so negatively, but trust me you don’t also want to not menstruate, because the point of menstruation is that you are able to give life and that is for us one of the best gifts in the world is to be a mother,” She said.
She added that “Be positive and understand that menstruation means that you have the workings of a woman and if you are not menstruating you would actually have to incur so many medical bills and costs, so it a gift look at it that way.”
She also encourages young people to learn more about menstruation “Go online, listen to what other people are doing and it defines you as a woman so why should you be ashamed of it.”
